controlled substances dispensed by means of the Internet.

SUMMARY: The Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act,
which was enacted on October 15, 2008,amended the Controlled Substances Act and Controlled Substances Import and Export Act by adding several new provisions to prevent the illegal distribution and dispensing of controlled substances by means of the Internet.

Federal law prohibits buying controlled substances such as narcotic pain relievers (e.g., OxyContin®, Vicodin®), sedatives (e.g., Valium®, Xanax®, Ambien®), stimulants (e.g., phentermine, phendimetrazine, Adderall®, Ritalin®) and anabolic steroids (e.g., Winstrol®, Equipoise®) without a valid prescription from your doctor.

Buying controlled substances online without a valid prescription may be punishable by imprisonment under Federal law. Often drugs ordered from rogue websites come from foreign countries. It is a felony to import drugs into the United States and ship to a non-DEA registrant.

Buying drugs online may not be only illegal, but dangerous. The American Medical Association and state boards of medicine and pharmacy have all condemned the practice of cyber doctors issuing online prescriptions as unacceptable medical care. Drugs delivered by rogue websites may be the wrong drugs, adulterated or expired, the wrong dosage strength, or have no dosage directions or warnings.

On 10/14/08 I placed an order for Plavix on Drugstore24h.org.
It was immediately processed, with a transaction number and order
number. It was to be shipped within 24 hours.
It never happened. Numerous phone & email messages go unreturned.

Their refund policy is: (quoted part is copied from their email)
“*We will refund the payment in the case of non-delivery by the dead-line (5-9 days for express and 14-21 for airmail, there can be an additional 5-7 days delay for the customs checking)”

They state that questions be directed to their ‘support team’ at rx-promo.com or by phone to (213) 985-2385 – not the same contact number previously given.

At this time it has been 60 days since they took my money

The web sites involved in this scam use at least the following addresses:

All of the web sites use the same template, display the BBBOnLine
Reliability Logo and an untrue message claiming to be “Listed at Better Business Bureau.”

This practice misleads consumers and violates United States trademark, counterfeiting and copyright laws.

These sites are in no way affiliated with the Better Business Bureau.
The BBB does not recommend visiting these sites, as there is some
evidence that the sites may try to download software to visitors’
computers.
The Council of Better Business Bureaus is unable to identify precisely who is behind these fraudulent Web sites because whoever registered them submitted phony contact information to the registrar. It does appear, however, that most of the spam messages originate from Korea….”

It’s anybody’s guess. You might receive a generic equivalent drug, but because most of the drugs these folks advertise have no generic

Medical State University in 1969.” Perform a Google search for “Ontario Medical State University” and you’ll find exactly 2 references: Both are on the MyCanadianPharmacy website. What the writer seemed not to know is that Canada has provinces, not states.

The site also says “Dr. Paul Newman graduated from the faculty of
psychiatry of the University of Ottawa.” Better guess this time. The
University of Ottawa exists and even has a medical school…”

ignorance.
A phone discussion with an official ItsYourDomain.com lady confirmed my impresssion:
They simply will ask the registrant to update their data.

”In the event Registrar learns of inaccurate contact information
associated with a Registered Name it sponsors, it shall take reasonable steps to correct that inaccuracy…The term “reasonable steps” is not defined within the agreement; precisely what constitutes reasonable steps to investigate and correct a reported inaccuracy will vary depending on the circumstances (e.g., accepting unverified “corrected” data from a registrant that has already deliberately provided incorrect data may not be appropriate). “(Registrar Advisory Concerning Whois Data Accuracy)

Yambo Financials Limited, the bank that’s not a bank, is expanding its services. Now it is offering, via VioBill.Com, credit card merchant accounts.

So, who are Viobill, and what do they do?

What they say is that they have a UK phone number at 0207 664 9165 but they do not offer a UK address. They say they have a US phone number at +1-650-655-7283.

According to WhitePages.Com, the area code 650 is in the California Peninsula area, around Palo Alto. But the announcement says that the mailing address is “701 5th Avenue, 42nd Floor, 98104-5119, Seattle, WA.” The website gives a sales telephone number of 206-903-1007 and that is the code for the area around Seattle.

The address is that of Colombia Tower, Seattle, or Bank of America Tower or the SeaCenter Tower according to Google.

What is clear, however, is that there are a number of businesses on that same floor including some that seem to be of reasonable size.

Viobill accepts adult sites and gambling sites but warns that some card companies do not allow their cards to be used for some such sites including Visa and Mastercard prohibiting US cardholders from using gambling sites.

THe website includes the following: “VIOCARD and other marks indicated on our site are registered trademarks of VIOCARD in the United Kingdom and/or other countries” and establishes its links with Yambo by the following “… Blocks all suspicious credit cards: from other billings and processing systems, with chargeback history in Yambo, with ‘STOLEN CARD’ processing result in Yambo.biz, etc. The list contains more than 50,000 cards.” ViaCard’s advertisement on Casinovendors.com says

“VIOCARD.COM is a fast-growing prospective payment system that has appeared on the market of eCommerce in September 2003. It is a unique technology that allows users to make payments through virtual money and reliable bank accounts. VIOCARD.COM is a payment service provider, working with several big American and European banks-equirers.[sic]
